The ticker and the board
The strip under the clock, and the full board that takes over the screen
The ticker
The ticker is the one-line strip under the clock. It takes turns showing the date, your phrases and the weather. In Settings › Board you choose:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Show the ticker | Shows or hides the strip. Without it, the clock grows to fill the space. |
| The date | Today's date, written in the board's language. |
| Phrases | Your phrases and the built-in ones. See Phrases and reminders. |
| Weather | Conditions and temperature. See Weather. |
| Date order | Month first or day first, where your language allows both. |
| Change the ticker every | 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute or 5 minutes. |
To skip to the next line, click the ticker or press D.
The full board
Every few minutes the clock turns over to the full board, four rows that show one of your phrases, then the clock comes back. In Settings › Board you set how often it comes, Show the board for how long it stays, and Board size how much of the screen it fills.
When the clock and board take turns, click the full board to go back to the clock. With Board only, a click shows the next phrase. To keep one of the two on screen, see Clock and board taking turns.
Roll length on the board sets how far each letter rolls through the alphabet before it lands: a Short roll or a Long roll.
Your language on the board
The board writes in the language you pick at the top of Settings, with that language's own letters and date format. Right-to-left languages run right to left. A character the board cannot draw, such as an emoji, shows as a blank card.
