Choose a theme

1. Move the mouse over the clock. Three round buttons appear in the bottom-right corner: click the gear to open Settings.
2. Open the Screen tab. Under Themes, click the button with the name of your current theme.
3. The library has two tabs: Built in, the eight themes FlipMatic comes with, and Installed, the themes you added from the store.
4. Click a theme to use it. The one in use is marked Current.

The prank remote

With a theme that has a scare, you can set the scare off from your phone:

1. Open Settings, and on the Screen tab click Open next to Prank remote. The same button also appears with the others when you move the mouse.
2. Scan the code on the clock with your phone's camera. The clock says Phone connected.
3. Press Scare! on the phone for a scare now, or In 5 seconds to get away first.

Hide puts the code away and keeps listening. Turn off, changing the theme, or 30 minutes without a press ends it. The phone needs no app and no account.

Favorites

• Click the heart on a theme card to add it to your favorites; click it again to remove it.
• The Favorites tab in the theme library holds them, with Shuffle and Change theme automatically: every 5, 10 or 30 minutes, every hour, every day, or each time the app opens.
• With two or more favorites, arrows to the previous and next favorite appear with the buttons you see when you move the mouse.

Get themes from the store

1. On flipmatic.app/themes, click Add under a theme, or Add all under a bundle. You can also open a theme and click Add to my library. The first time, create a free account or sign in.
2. Once on each computer, connect FlipMatic to your library.
3. That's it. Every theme you add to your library from then on installs in FlipMatic by itself.

FlipMatic picks up new themes when you open it or switch to it, and about once an hour while it runs. It checks that every theme is the genuine one from FlipMatic before it saves it. Installed themes work without an internet connection.

From inside the app, Download more on the FlipMatic store on the Installed tab opens the store in your browser.

Connect FlipMatic to your library

1. On flipmatic.app, sign in, or create a free account, and add the themes you want. They go to My Library.
2. In FlipMatic, open Themes and go to the Installed tab. Choose Connect to my library.
3. Your browser opens flipmatic.app. Sign in if it asks, with the same account.
4. FlipMatic shows a 4-digit code, and so does the page. If they are the same, click Connect.
5. FlipMatic says Connected. The themes in your library install by themselves, now and every time you add more.

Do this once on each computer. To stop, open My Library and click Disconnect: every computer stops getting new themes, and the themes already installed stay.

Connected computers

• To get your library on another computer, install FlipMatic there and choose Connect to my library on the Installed tab of its theme library.
• Disconnect in My Library stops every connected computer from getting new themes. The themes already installed stay.
• Removing a theme from your library does not remove it from FlipMatic.

Remove a theme

1. Open the theme library and choose the installed theme you want to remove, so it is the current one.
2. On the Installed tab, click Remove current theme and confirm.

Animated and Halloween themes

• Some themes move. Their animations rest after 10 minutes without mouse or keyboard activity on the clock, and when the window is hidden.
• The Halloween themes come in two bundles. Add the whole bundle to your library, or pick single themes on the bundle's page. The scary ones play their scare sounds only when Sound is on. Press M to turn sound off.
• If you turned on reduced motion in Windows or macOS, the moving parts and the scares stay still.
